Self Care in Pregnancy
Wednesday, February 24
7:00 to 8:30pm
at the Athens Library
Join us for a conversation about how to take care of yourself in pregnancy, including: exercise and relaxation, emotional well-being, diet and supplements, preparing for breastfeeding and other changes, and how to pamper yourself!
*This month's Evening Sponsor is Kelley Evans, PhD, Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. BodyTalk is an alternative health practice that motivates the body’s potential to heal itself. BodyTalk sessions involve a questioning process that finds which parts of the body need better communication and harmony. A light tapping technique is used to help the brain restore communication. Each session is tailored to your body’s specific priorities for healing.
Safe, effective, and noninvasive, BodyTalk can help with pregnancy and after, helping prepare and sustain yourself physically and emotionally. BodyTalk is also great for anyone—babies, children, spouses, and grandparents alike. In addition to helping the body balance the stresses of pregnancy, BodyTalk typically improves conditions such as allergies, joint pain, and digestive disorders, as well as depression and anxiety. BodyTalk complements Western and alternative medicines.
Kelley does BodyTalk sessions at Inhale Yoga Studio, 8 N. Court St., Garden Level. An initial session is $75, and follow-up sessions are $60. She can be reached at her cell phone, 254-644-1664, or by email, kel_e_evans@yahoo.com.

Contributors Needed!
The Birth Circle is putting together a recipe book for pregnant and nursing women and their families. It will be a collaboration of local and regional people and businesses, and proceeds will benefit the Birth Circle. Our goal is to make this cookbook personal, fun, healthful, and helpful. If you would like to learn more or if you have a recipe that you would like to contribute, please contact Timi Singley at timisingley@yahoo.com with the subject as: MOM’S COOKBOOK.
New Sling Library
We have decided to add a "sling library" to The Birth Circle's lending library, which will allow you to check out one of a variety of slings for a month at a time, for a $3 fee (the fee will go towards a fund to purchase new slings as styles and needs change). That way you can test them out to see what works best for you and your baby, before spending the money to buy one! In order to get started, we need SLING DONATIONS. So, if you have an old Maya Wrap, Ergo, Moby, etc., just let us know and we'll come pick it up.
“Through our experiences with The Birth Circle, much of the mystery of childbirth was gradually replaced with the confidence that our baby could be born in a way that we were most comfortable with, and she was.”
– Rob, father of one
