The Birth Circle Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement:

Our mission is to educate, support and empower women and their families as they journey through pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and early childhood. By making families aware of the resources available to them, we are hoping to build community – which may be just as important as anything else we do.

Goals:

Our goals for 2011 include:

Reaching more women and families throughout our region by continuing to build strong partnerships in the community, and by further developing the many important programs and events we offer.

Thoroughly advertise our infertility and pregnancy loss support groups.

Create a carpool program for families who need transportation to meetings and events.

More distant goals include purchasing or leasing building space so that we could become a resource center for expectant and new families in our community. This space could be used to schedule and hold meetings, host play groups and teach classes such as prenatal childbirth education, prenatal yoga, sibling classes, refresher classes, etc.

We would also support and participate in efforts to have an out-of-hospital birth center here in our own community.
