Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings include sharing of birth stories, and presentations and discussion topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. We gather to share in each other's lives, creating a sense of community through the experience of parenthood. As a group, we explore all options available to birthing families, while promoting a feeling of openness. All backgrounds, experiences and choices are honored. We encourage you to share your thoughts or concerns, and if you have any issues you would like to address more privately, there is always time after the meeting to talk one-on-one.Meals for Moms
Our “Meals for Moms” program is one of the Birth Circle’s greatest success stories. Postpartum families who desire to have help in the form of meals may sign up with us sometime during their pregnancy. After the baby arrives, the mom or her partner notifies the Meals for Moms coordinator, who then organizes the meals, which are prepared and delivered by Birth Circle volunteers. This is a great chance for both children and parents to make new friends! The group meets once a month, for two hours of play, socializing, and support. All ages welcome. First Thursday of each month at Athens Public Library (kids section) from 3pm-5pm. New to parenting? New to the area? Fill in a quick questionnaire and we'll match you with someone who shares your interests, who has had the kind of birth you're hoping for, who can help you through tough parenting issues, etc. Whatever kind of support you need, we can find it for you!
